It’s been a busy week, with something going on every day. It hasn’t left a lot of time for sewing on my own projects, but I have made good progress on a free quilt along I’ve designed just for you coming in March for National Quilting Month – more on that below. Island Batik's September Challenge and Blog Hop focuses on the Studio 180 Design tool we received in our second Ambassador box. I received the Tucker Trimmer Tool.
I also received the Honeycomb fabric collection, designed by Kathy Engle for Jackie Kunkle of Canton Village Quiltworks, shipping to shops in September.

Me: Even before I finish this thing, I have the next one ready to go, with no time to play ...
The second shipment of boxes from Island Batik arrived in the last week of June, loaded with gorgeous fabrics and other goodies/supplies from Island Batik's industry partners.
Last weekend, I shot the video.

read moreOver the last couple of months, several of the Studio 180 Design Certificated Instructors, including myself, have been participating in a Block Exploration Challenge. Each month we design a block using a Studio 180 Design tool or technique, and every week we reveal a piece of the block on our Instagram pages.
This month's blocks challenge was to design and make a block around the Shaded Four Patch. This is a fun little Technique by Studio 180 Design.

Whether you are a quilter, sewist, home cook or amateur gardener, do you like taking classes? I certainly do! I always learn something new, and I get to have a whole day of sewing with friends, and meeting new friends. Even better when it is taught by friends! This quilting class was actually a bit extraordinary as I came away with a good tip I want to share, and three tools I know I can no longer do without. Links are provided if you cannot find these at your local quilt shop.
Here is the first tip, and somewhat of ...
